Sub-Zero Repair Pro Los Angeles · CA

About

An independent refrigeration service, kept deliberately small

Sub-Zero Repair Pro Los Angeles works on one family of equipment — built-in Sub-Zero refrigeration — across four Los Angeles districts. Not a general appliance shop, and not a dispatcher selling your address to whoever is free.

Independent, and working on Sub-Zero refrigeration in Los Angeles since 2001.

Method

How a visit runs, in order

Flat $89 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it.

What the repair itself comes to is a range, set out band by band on every repair page — never one number before anybody has looked at the unit.

  1. 01

    Describe it on the phone

Model and serial from the plate inside the fresh-food door, upper left frame, plus what the unit is actually doing — temperatures, noises, whether one side still holds. That usually narrows the fault before anyone is dispatched, and it decides which parts ride along on the van.

  2. 02

    Measured, not eyeballed

Compartment temperatures logged against the set points with a probe rather than read off the display, airflow traced, defrost circuit and controls tested. The sealed system goes under gauges when — and only when — the readings point there.

  3. 03

    A number before a spanner

Parts and labour quoted as one figure, with what the fault is and what happens if it is left. Nothing is ordered, opened up or replaced until you have agreed to it. If the honest answer is that the unit is not worth the repair, you get that answer too.

  4. 04

    Run back down and shown

The unit is brought back to spec and the readings are shown to you before anyone leaves — a repair that has not been verified in front of the owner is not finished.

Why four districts

Coverage is Encino, Cheviot Hills, Mar Vista and Larchmont Village. A repair business that claims the whole basin spends its day on the 405 and arrives at the second call with an hour of daylight left. Holding one route means the drive between two jobs is short enough that a morning call can still be seen the afternoon it comes in.

It also means the failures are familiar. Valley heat kills condensers and condenser fans in clusters every summer; the marine layer a few miles inland works on gaskets, hinges and exposed fins; the period houses on the mid-city arc hide columns inside joinery with almost no air behind the plinth. Same brand, three different reasons a cabinet stops holding.

What we do not do

  • No ovens, ranges, cooktops or dishwashers. Cooking equipment is a different trade and a different set of parts.
  • No contact forms and no email queue — the phone is answered 24/7, and the booking page holds a real slot.
  • No diagnosis over the phone that gets billed as a repair. The visit is $89, and it is credited against the work.
  • No affiliation with the manufacturer. This is an independent service and the footer says so on every page.
